This symbol represents new beginnings, growth, and the continuous cycle of life. Made from ethically sourced bone, this necklace perfectly blends cultural significance with natural elegance, making it a meaningful adornment for everyday wear or special occasions.
Whether you seek a personal talisman of growth or a culturally rich gift, the Bone Korus Necklace connects the wearer to the enduring spirit and traditions of Aotearoa.
Cultural Significance of the Koru
In Māori culture, the Koru symbolizes eternal life, renewal, harmony, and tranquility. Its spiral form mirrors the young silver fern frond as it unfurls, representing the nurturing power of family (whānau) and the cyclical nature of existence.
Wearing a Bone Korus Necklace invites the wearer to embrace life’s continual growth and transformation, fostering resilience and a deep connection to their heritage and environment.
Craftsmanship and Design
Each Bone Korus Necklace is intricately hand-carved by skilled Māori artisans who employ traditional carving methods. The ethically sourced bone is shaped and polished to highlight the flowing curves and smooth texture of the Koru design, creating a timeless and elegant piece.
The natural hues and fine detailing enhance the necklace’s organic beauty, making it both a cultural statement and a versatile accessory.
Symbolism and Meaning
The Bone Korus Necklace embodies growth, renewal, balance, and ancestral connection. The spiral design serves as a reminder of life’s unfolding journey, encouraging strength and harmony within oneself and with the wider world.
The bone material deepens this symbolism, representing the link between the physical and spiritual realms, and connecting the wearer to the mana (prestige) of their ancestors.
Uses and Versatility
This necklace is suitable for daily wear, cultural ceremonies, or as a treasured gift. Its elegant simplicity complements various styles, allowing the wearer to carry a meaningful symbol wherever they go.
